Charles "Bucky" Frederick Bartz, Jr., 83, of Mechanicsville, MD died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Born on March 25, 1927 in District Heights, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Frederick Bartz, Sr. and Marian Rollins Bartz. He moved to Mechanicsville with his parents and siblings in 1947 from District Heights.

He worked as a hog farmer and dump truck driver until his retirement. He is also a WWII Navy veteran. His enjoyments were fishing, tinkering with old motors, growing crops, caring for wild life, watching the weather, good food, his dog "Boy", and the company of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by a brother-in-law, Eddie Burroughs.

Survived by his siblings, Anna Mae Austin, Marie B. Burroughs, and Nancy B. Turner (Jerry), all of Mechanicsville, and James L. Bartz, Sr. (Ellen) of Hollywood, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, two great-great nephews and one great-great niece.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. with prayers recited at 7 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 with Bishop William McClean, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.

Serving as Pallbearers will be his six nephews, Dennis Austin, James L. Bartz, Jr., Ed and Don Burroughs, David and Steven Turner, his two great-nephews, Andrew and Kevin Bartz. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be JoAnne Klear, Edsel Bradbury, and Steven Burroughs.
