![]() Mr. Bowling was a Long Distance Driver with Southern Maryland Oil for 40 years and a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, MD. He loved playing cards, gardening, yard work, playing golf and, most of all, being with his grandchildren. He was known as a devoted family man.
Son of the late William Clayton Bowling, Sr. and the late Gladys Pauline Herbert. Predeceased by his parents and one son, Glenn Bowling. Survived by his son, Craig J. Bowling of Charlotte Hall, MD, one brother, William C. (Dorothy) Bowling of Florida, and three sisters, Mary Theresa Bowen of La Plata, MD, Elizabeth Lee (Francis) Potter of Hughesville, MD, and Catherine A. Poole of La Plata, MD. Also survived by two grandchildren, Kristen and Joseph Bowling. Visitation: Friday, July 23, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with Wake Service at 7pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13705 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617. Clergy: Monsignor Oliver McGready. Pallbearers: Donald Poole, Dwayne Bowling, Frank Potter, Bobby Bowen, Larry Potter, and Leonard Bowling. Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Bryantown, MD.
