Cynthia G. Buckley, 78, of Bryans Road and formerly of Bowie died surrounded by family on June 12, 2010. Born May 8, 1932 in Washington, DC.

She was a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church. She had many different interests that she shared with all her friends and family and special times and memories at Cobb Island. She had a love of life and making people happy. She embraced the joy in everyone else's life. She was a loving, caring person who was blessed to be in her corner of the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan D. Buckley and brother, Jack and step-brother, Jack.

She is survived by her children, David Buckley, Tim Buckley (Paula), Paul Buckley (Sue), Tom Buckley (Barbara) and Jennifer Carpenter (Jim) and grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Jacqulyn, Colin, Caitlin and Wyatt; sisters, Barbara, Betsy (Harvey), Carol, Cora Sue, and Nannette.

A life celebration gathering will be held at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in La Plata, MD on Wednesday, June 16 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at La Plata United Methodist Church in La Plata, MD on Thursday, June 17 at 10:00 a.m.
