Thomas Wayne Shaver, 83, of Waldorf, MD, died June 2, 2010, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Mr. Shaver was a WWII veteran serving in Company "C" of the 63rd Armored Battalion, 11th Armored Division of the U.S. Army in Europe until 1946. He was also a retiree of 39 years from the U.S. Department of State, Agency for International Development. A printer by trade, he also worked 13 years at Hechinger's and 11 years at Lowes both of Waldorf. Thomas was known for his hard work and solid work ethic. He will be missed by all.

Born July 18, 1926, in Caldwell, ID, he was the son of the late Glen C. Shaver and the late Georgia L. Shaver.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Richard G. Shaver and Rex D. Shaver.

Survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Joan Shaver; son, Donald Wayne Shaver of Arlington, VA: daughter, Pamela Jean and her husband Joseph Perillo of White Plains, MD. Also survived by his granddaughters, Megan and Sarah and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, from 2:00PM until 3:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 7, 2010, beginning at 3:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Jim Tiefel will officiate.

Interment will be private.
