Emma "Betty" Harrison, 89, of Leonardtown, MD died peacefully at her residence on May 11, 2010.

Born March 16, 1921, in Bedford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Beegle.

Betty served in the Army as a nurse during WWII. After the war, she came to Annapolis, MD where she met and married Billy Harrison. Betty and Billy worked side by side on a farm in Harwood, MD until she moved to Leonardtown, MD in 2005 to live with her daughter.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Susan and her husband Ron, and one grandson, Kyle Wayson and his wife Brittney. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy and her daughter Betsy.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Funeral services and burial will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian, MD.
