Barbara G. Lewis, age 83, of Huntingtown, MD passed away April 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born August 22, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to Joseph and Mary Agnes (Hodgins) Ofenstein. She was raised and attended public school in Washington and met and married Ellwood A. Lewis on March 16, 1946. They lived and raised their family in the District until moving to Palmer Park, MD in 1955 and to Huntingtown, MD in 1969.

Barbara was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk at the Nationwide Pharmacy in Prince Frederick until her retirement in 2002. In her leisure time she loved playing Bingo and attending flea markets and thrift stores. She enjoyed harness racing and was especially fond of her dog "Friskey."

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Ellwood A. "Fritz" Lewis, Sr. on May 26, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter Patricia S. Lewis with whom she lived in Huntingtown, sons Ellwood A. "Woodie" Lewis, Jr. and wife Susan of Huntingtown and Michael A. Lewis and wife Dee of Hughesville, MD; grandchildren Michael, Richard, Annemarie, Tara and Holly Lewis and Jennifer Morgan, and a brother Joseph A. Ofenstein.

Friends and family will be received on Friday April 30 from 10-11 AM at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD, where funeral services and a celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
