Michael Paul Musial, 63, of Newburg, MD, died April 18, 2010, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC.

Mr. Musial was a retired Maryland State Trooper having served 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of AMVETS and the VFW. He was at ground zero in New York City during September 11, assisting with shuttling with the coroner. He was with FEMA during the floods in Houston and the tornado in Florida. He was also an Assistant with Homeland Security. He was a lifetime member of the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department and during his time with the State Trooper's he was a member with the Lions Club, the Kiwanas Club and the Waldorf Jaycees.

Born October 12, 1946, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Edwin Musial and the late Lorraine Roll Musial.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 25 years, Betty J. Musial; brother, Ronald E. and his wife Margo Musial of Elgin, IL.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 23, 2010, from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be on Friday, April 23, 2010, at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Interment will be on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard and Maryland State Troopers Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 9, Newburg, MD 20664.
