Barbara Ann Palumbo, 64, of Mechanicsville, MD died April 16, 2010 at Hospice House of St. Mary's. Born July 28, 1945 in Warrenton, VA she was the daughter of Leonard Harvey Gray and Margaret Lee Lawrence.

Barbara worked as a Research Assistant for the Federal Government. She was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Hughesville, MD. She loved flowers, birds, beach, the smell of the ocean and especially North Beach. A special love was watching her grandchildren play.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, the late Vincenzo Palumbo.

She is survived by her daughters, Nicoletta Palumbo and Christina White, both of Mechanicsville, MD and Michelle Mahaffey of Westminster, MD; sisters, Lenore Powell of Rockville, MD, Rachel Buchanan of Fredericksburg, VA, Judy Martin of Pennsboro, W VA and Darlene Cropp of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Jonathan Paul Mahaffey, Paul Vincenzo Mahaffey and Madeline Adrianna Mahaffey.

The family will receive friends for Barbara's Life Celebration on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 6430 Valyn Drive, Hughesville MD at 3:00 p.m.

Interment will be private.
