Peggy Delores Thompson Harley was born on March 11, 1946 to the late Joseph E. and the late Marguerite Thompson in Bel Alton, Maryland. On Monday, April 12, 2010 she quietly departed this life for one eternal.

Peggy was educated in Charles County Public Schools. She worked for the International Brothers of Teamsters for fifteen years in Washington, D.C. However, she later became a Nursing Assistant and over the years worked for several different Nursing Homes including St. Mary's County, Calvert County, Charles County, Prince Georges County, and Fort Washington. She worked at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home for 15 years and Southern Maryland Hospital for nine years, often holding down two jobs at the same time.

Peggy loved to eat crabs with her daughter. She also loved to shop, travel, and play bingo. She enjoyed the company of her family and friends and would often invite them to her home. She loved to bring her family together by having a family reunion. Peggy was a loving and giving person who was also lots of fun. She was a mother to her nieces and nephews and told them all she was their favorite aunt. She also provided a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on for co-workers and friends.

There were two favorite cousins who meant the world to Peggy, Sandra Johnson and Brenda Thomas. They were more like sisters than cousins. To Sandra, Peggy wanted to "thank you for being by my bedside during my illness. I love you," and to Brenda "we did everything together, you dropped everything to be there when I called. Thank you."

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Carl, sisters, Shirley Ann Baker and Yvonne Thompson.

Left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are her children Thomas, Jr., Victor, Sr., Chris and Priscilla, grandchildren, Spc. David C. Mason, Jr., Christen S. Harley, Jonathan D. Mason, Victoria C. Harley and Victor C. Harely Jr., great granddaughter, Makiyah Dickerson, sisters, Ruth Thompson and Christine Cooper, brother, Jamie, aunts, Eleanor Smith, Roberta Thompson, Josephine Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends.
