Mr. Simms was a self-employed waterman for 35 years and a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue, MD. He loved cooking, fishing, crabbing, dancing, and having fun. He was also an equipment operator for Historyland Cemetery in King George, VA.

Son of the late Maurice J. Simms, Sr., and the late Mae Elizabeth Stine Simms.

Predeceased by his parents; and brother, Maurice Simms, Jr.

Survived by one son, James M. (Michelle) Simms of King George, VA; three daughters, Juanita M. Beale of Montross, VA, Cheryl M. Simms of King George, VA, and Crystal Kimbro of King George, VA; one sister, Joan Cooksey of La Plata, MD; one uncle, Lester Stine; and five grandchildren. Also survived by numerous cousins.

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11 AM at New Hope Church and Ministry Center (4200 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20602).

Interment: Meadow-Brooke Memorial Gardens at 4 PM (King George, VA).
