Constance "Connie" Elizabeth Wright, 61, of Mechanicsville, MD died April 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Connie was born on September 9, 1948 in Leonardtown, MD, the daughter of Charles Hedges Moore and Delores Elizabeth Goodwin.

Besides her parents, Connie was pre-deceased by her brothers, Robert Moore and John Goodwin. Connie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph Thomas Wright, her step-mother, Diane Moore; daughters, Tracy Jean Hammonds and Julie Ann Fuller; sons-in-law, John Hammonds and Bobby Fuller, step-sister, Nora Rothpearl; grandchildren, Joseph Hammonds, Katlyn Hammonds and Christina Hammonds.

Connie was employed with the Charles County Government (Roads Division) where she was a dedicated employee. She would spend many hours at work with snow removal and any emergency that would arise.

Connie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent a lot of her time caring for the needs of others. She loved to play Bingo, Keno and go shopping. She rescued many cats and loved all animals. A special joy was spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Connie was a very special person and will be missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends for Connie's Life Celebration on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:-00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols. Father John A. Ball will officiate.

Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Pallbearers will be John Hammonds, Joseph Hammonds, Bobby Fuller, James Pickeral, Richard Williams and Bobby Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Katlyn Hammonds, Christina Hammonds and Danny Fuller.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1015, 71 Industrial Park Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602 or Hospice of St. Mary's County, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
