![]() Raymond Matthew "Pops" "Pee Wee" Garner , 86, of Bryans Road, MD, died March 28, 2010, at Ft. Washington Rehab Center, Ft. Washington, MD.
Mr. Garner worked for 40 years as a Carpenter for Smallwood and Sons Builders in Oxon Hill, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and loved country music. Born August 16, 1923, in Bel Alton, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Adrian Garner and the late Rosebelle Angela Inscoe. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Thomas Garner, Wilson Garner, Russell Garner; sisters, Marion Coombs and Naomi Clark. Survived by his wife Lillian "Me-Me" Garner; sons, William Alan Garner of Bryans Road, MD; Donald Raymond Garner of Pomfret, MD; Gregg Matthew Garner of Hughesville, MD; daughters, Janice Lee and her husband Lane Zangwill of Waldorf, MD; Laurie Ann Garner of Bryans Road, MD; sisters, Margaret Wedding of Bryans Road, MD; Gladys Buckler of Pomfret, MD; Rose Matthews of Rison, MD; Betty Dull of La Plata, MD; Ethel Manley of SC; Irene Edwards of Everette, WA; Barbara Miedzinski of La Plata, MD; Ruth Creighton of La Plata, MD; Georgetta Thir of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2010, from 2PM until time of Memorial Service at 3PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate.
