David "Dave" L. Lorence, 71, of Newburg, MD passed away on March 19, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents; Floyd Lorence and Margaret Webster.

He is survived by his wife; Peggy Lorence. Son; Chris Lorence of Arlington, VA. Daughters; Sandra L. Merchant of Bel Alton, MD and Kathy S. Bacon of La Plata, MD. Brothers; John F. Lorence, Sr. of Federalsburg, MD, and Andrew B. Lorence of Texas. He is also survived by 5 grandsons.

Dave enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He had served two terms in the Army National Guard and retired from SMECO in 2006.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with prayers at 7 pm. Service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Christ Church-Wayside.
