James Edward Phipps, 36, of Mechanicsville, MD, died March 18, 2010 at his residence. Born January 17, 1974 in Washington, D.C, he was the son of James Bruce Phipps of Mechanicsville, MD and Patricia Harris Murphy of Lothian, MD. James was a graduate of Lackey High School and he served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He then worked as an iron worker and belonged to the Iron Workers Local #5. In his free time he loved crabbing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, James is survived by his wife, Jaymie Lynn Roland Phipps; sons, Kyle James Phipps and Jacob Edward Phipps of Chesapeake Beach, MD; daughter, Jaelyn Hope Phipps of Mechanicsville, MD; brothers, Christopher Allen Phipps of Mechanicsville, MD and Stephen Glenn Myles, Jr. of Beltsville, MD and step-mother, Sharon Phipps.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 23. 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at All Faith Episcopal Church, 38885 New Market Turner Rd., Mechanicsville, MD. The Rev. Fr. Eric Junger will conduct a service at 12:00 noon.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Phipps Memorial Fund, Sun Trust Bank, 29946 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
