![]() Delia Sadie Chatman of White Plains, Maryland, died on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Cape Coral, Florida. She was 95 years old.
Born on May 30, 1914 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Zackia Neam and the late Nicolas Neam. Mrs. Chatman was a homemaker. She retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a member of the Office and Professional Employees Intl. Union No. 2. She was a member of the Oxon Hill Democratic Club and Cultural Council, Waldorf Jaycees, Prince George's Park and Planning Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary VFW #9619, St. Charles, Camp Springs, Surratts, and St. John's Senior Clubs, and local fun and antique clubs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harland Wesley Chatman; her wonderful daughter, Darleen Lyons; her brother, Adeeb Neam; her sister, Lilly Neam. Survived by her loving children, Delores Pittman, Elaine Wallace, Robert Chatman, James Chatman, William Chatman, and Cherie McClung; her siblings Pauline Staunton, Edward Neam, James Neam, Jeanette Dobek, and Isabel Grob. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and more friends than most of us could hope to have. Visitation on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 1-3 PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11 AM at St. George Antiocian Orthodox Church, 4335 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC with Father Joseph Rahal to officiate. A Meal of Mercy served after the service. Interment: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10AM at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements by Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., La Plata, MD. |
