John Francis Watts, Sr., 68, of La Plata, MD, died March 10, 2010, in Accokeek, MD, with Hospice

Mr. Watts retired from the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head, MD, on May 1, 2003. He enjoyed watching western movies on television and attending local movie theaters. He also enjoyed going to Budds Creek Maryland International Raceway and the sport of fishing.

Born October 15, 1941, in La Plata, MD, he was the son of the late George Sherman Watts and the late Rosie Elizabeth Young Watts.

Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Mary Ann Watts-Tolson, Ida Lucille Watts; brother, Stephen Sherman Watts; grandson, Aaron T. Watts-Toye.

Survived by his sons, John F. Watts, Jr.; Eric L. and his wife Sondra Watts; Kenneth M. Watts; Aaron T. and his wife April Watts; daughters, Lydia A. Washington; Barbara J. and her husband Jerald Farmer; Lisa M. Watts; brother, William S. and his wife Carolyn Watts, Sr.; sisters, Ella Lee and her husband Joseph Winters; Alice Watts-Briscoe . Also survived by 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; godchild, Lisa Cole.

Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 19, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
