![]() John Francis Proctor, affectionately known as "Purnell," quietly departed this life on February 25, 2010 at the Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC.
He was born in Washington, DC on July 6, 1956 to the late Agnes Yvonne Gray Proctor and the late John Ruby Proctor. John attended Charles County Public Schools. He was a painter by trade and worked for DePaulo Painting. John enjoyed painting and was good at his job. He also loved to sing. He especially liked the old songs such as "Thin Line Between Love and Hate" and "Reasons." In addition to his parents, Agnes and John, he is also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Purnell "Joe Joe" Proctor. He is survived by his daughters, Katrina Renee "Weedie" Proctor and LaKisha Yvonne "Kee" Proctor, sister, Mary Patricia "Pat" Green, brothers, James Ronald "Ronnie" Gray, Francis Sirron, John Alfred, and William Roger Proctor, sisters-in-law, Sheila, Gloria, Laura, and Beverly, grandchildren, Jada Proctor, Tiondre Proctor, Maurice Williams, Nevaeh Guy, and Marcarvous Proctor, special friend, Landi Renee King and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. His viewing will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 10:00am until service time 11:00am in the CHAPEL of Thornton Funeral Home, PA, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD.
