John Francis "Jack" Oliver, Sr., 81, died February 25, 2010 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Born February 15, 1929 in Bushwood, MD, he was the son of Berlin Oliver and Julia Bailey Oliver. Mr. Oliver served with the United States Army in Korea. He was an auto mechanic by trade and loved to work on cars and pick-up trucks. He also did bodywork on vehicles. Playing cards was a favorite pastime. He was a member of Holy Angels and Sacred Heart Churches in St. Mary's County.

Mr. Oliver was predeceased by his wife, Doris E. Oliver and brothers, Bernard Oliver and James Oliver.

He is survived by his sons, John F. Oliver, Jr. (Mary Ellen) of Bushwood, MD and Michael Oliver (Lori) of Lexington Park, MD; daughters, Dorothy Babcock of Ridge, MD, Julia Oliver of Hollywood, MD and Patricia (Dickie) Norris of Texas; brothers, Joseph Oliver, Sr. of Avenue, MD and Robert T. Oliver of Avenue, MD; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
