Katherine E. Fowler, 81, of Welcome, MD passed away on February 19, 2010 at Civista Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Leonard H. Boertlein and Elizabeth Boertlein. Her husband of 55 years, Emmett L. Fowler. Son, Emmett L. Fowler, III. Brother, Paul Boertlein. Sister, Minnie Boertlein, and Grandson, James E. Fowler.

She is survived by her Son, Michael L. Fowler. Daughter, Donna Kay Fowler. Brother, John T. Boertlein. Grandchildren, John Risden, Christopher Risden, Emmett L. Fowler, IV, Wesley D. Fowler, Joel S. Mitchell, Michael L. Fowler, II, and Bonnie Engle. Also 5 Great Grandchildren.

Katherine enjoyed being outdoors, boating, camping, sking, riding her motorcyle, fishing, and crabbing. She also loved to be with her Grandchildren and other family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2-4 pm & 6-8pm within that time at 7 pm prayers will be said at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home. Service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Nanjemoy VFD or the Charles County Humane Society.
