Mr. Owens was an electrical mechanic with PEPCO in Morgantown, MD for 32 years. He attended Leonardtown High School and served honorably in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the St. Charles Sportsman Club and the NRA. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed crossword puzzles. One of his biggest loves was playing his guitar and singing with other local musicians.

Son of the late William Edward "Ned" Owens and the late Essie Eulalia Downs Owens.

Predeceased by his parents; five brothers and three sisters; and a daughter, Debra Sue Owens Wise.

Survived by two sons, John "Bosco" (Roselle) Owens, Jr., of Jupiter, FL and Billie Owens of Lusby, MD; four sisters, Gladys Pilkerton of Leonardtown, MD, Irene Robertson of Clinton, MD, Betty Woods of Hollywood, MD, and Barbara Wetzel of La Plata, MD. Also survived by four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 5-8PM, at Cobb Island Baptist Church.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 18 at 7PM, at Cobb Island Baptist Church.

Rev. Joe Blanton will officiate.

Interment will be at a later date at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
