Ann Howard Davis, MA CCC SP-L, 78, of La Plata, MD, died February 7, 2010, at Villa Rosa Nursing Home, Mitchellville, MD.

Ann attended Catholic schools in Baltimore and Towson and was a graduate of the College of Notre Dame - Baltimore. Upon graduation she was chosen to fly on the first commercial turbo jet in the country with Capital Airlines which later merged with United. She received her masters in speech pathology from the University of Maryland. In 1965 she moved to Charles County to work for the Health Department. She practiced speech pathology for the rest of her life. She was active in Port Tobacco Players and was a frequent lector in church services. She was a member of St. Ignatius Chapel Point, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Secular Carmelites in Washington, DC. She was also a lifetime member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. This is a very shortened biography.

Born December 23, 1931, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Harold Howard and the late Edna Mae Burnside Howard.

Predeceased by her parents; infant brother, Joseph Howard; sister, Katherine Lou (Kitty) Howard Mulay.

Survived by her husband, Chester E. Davis, Jr.; daughters, Jeanmarie H. Davis and Melissa A. Davis, both of La Plata, MD; brother, John B. Howard of Baltimore, MD; sister, Edith Howard Hogan of Washington, DC. Also survived by one grand godson, Forest Agostinelli of Washington, DC.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 11AM, at Mt. Carmel Monastery, Mitchell Road, La Plata, MD.

Father Edward Dougherty, S.J. and Fr. Kieran Kavanaugh, OCD will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Chapel Point, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the intentions of the Carmelite Sisters of Baltimore, 1318 Dulaney Valley Road, Baltimore, MD 21286, Attention: Sister Constance Fitzgerald.
