Virginia "Ginger" Wood Burch, 61 of Charlotte Hall, MD died on February 15, 2010 at P.G. Hospital.

Born on July 31, 1948 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William and Gail S. Wood. Mrs. Burch was the Chief Operating Officer for 14 years with Charles County United Way. She has resided in Charlotte Hall since 1988 and was formerly of Waldorf, MD. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church and served the community professionally and as a volunteer. Ginger was an Elder, a non-commissioned lay pastor, a Stephen Minister, and most recently received accreditation as a Stephen Leader for GSPC. She loved spending time at the beach, especially South Beach in Florida and Bethany Beach in Delaware. Ginger was a most unusual, unique and spirited character.

Survived by her husband, Dale Forrest Burch; children, Shannon Grebe & husband, Karl; Mandy Burch, and E. Seth A. Burch & wife, Karen; two grandchildren, Alison Gail Burch and Willi August Grebe; and two sisters-in-law, Dawn Jett and Valerie Gearing. She was also Godmother to Christopher Nicholas and Jeremy Francis Mandragos.

The family will receive friends to Celebrate Virginia's Life on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A committal service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 9:30am at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD. Friends and family will gather at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home at 8:30am to process to the cemetery. Funeral Services will follow the interment at 11am at Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church, Waldorf, MD with Pastor Don Benjamin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church General Fund, the Stephen Ministry fund, or the Benevolence Fund, 13025 Good Samaritan Drive, Waldorf, MD. If flowers are chosen, please send to the funeral home.
