Charles "Charlie" David Sweeney, Jr., 67, of White Plains, MD, died February 8, 2010, at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton.

Mr. Sweeney served as a Private with the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was a X-Ray and Lab Technician at Pinefield Medical Center and at Brandywine Medical Office with Dr. Fieldson for 42 years. He was a Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists (MSRT) and the American Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). He was a member of the Brandywine Lions Club and the Waldorf Moose Lodge 1709. He loved fishing, camping and shooting pool.

Born January 10, 1943, in Washington, DC, he was the son of late Charles D. Sweeney, Sr. And the late Alice Furbush Stiegel.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife, Ella L. Sweeney; daughter, Catherine Denise Sweeney Richards of South Mills, NC; grandson, Richard Blaise Holland; nephew, Larry Wilson Warder of Waldorf, MD; sisters, Evelyn Garverich of Littleton, CO; Carol Covert of Rockledge, FL; LuAnne Sweeney of Rockledge, FL; Joyce Tipkin of Virginia Beach, VA. Also survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 6PM to 8PM with a Memorial Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD.

Prayer of Farewell will be Friday, February 19, 2010, at 9AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brandywine Lions Club Eye Fund or the Mooseheart Fund.
