![]() Raymond James King, Jr. departed this life peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, DC to go home to be with our Heavenly Father. He was born on February 28, 1928 to the late Raymond James King, Sr., and the late Blanche I. King. He was the oldest of eleven children.
Raymond received his education in the public school systems in Charles County, Maryland. He was employed in the Construction Industry. Raymond was a quiet man who was contented with working and being with family. Raymond was a wonderful and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Everyone who knew Raymond knew that he loved baseball. Raymond was united in holy matrimony to the late Gladys Cooper King to this unity two children were born, Peggy King Swann and the late Charles King. Raymond was also the father to Tyrone Newman and Samantha King. Raymond was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Miles-King and Atla Brawner; five brothers, Harrison King, Leroy King, Edward King, Jerome King, Lawrence Munson; and sister-in-law, Octavia King. He leaves to cherish his loving children, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, an uncle, Randolph Bland, Sr.; an aunt, Eudora Bland-Chisley; three loving sisters, Delores King Johnson, Eleanor Travers, and Marion Jarmon; brothers-in-law, Herbert (Buddy) Johnson and Clifford Jarmon, sisters-in-law, Margaret King, Dorothy E. King, and Dorothy Ferrell-King; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
