Leon E. McClure Sr. of La Plata, Maryland, died on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at his residence. He was 77 years old.

Mr. McClure served in the U. S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Maryland State Trooper and was a member of the Maryland State Police Alumni. He was a member of the American Legion Post #82 and has served as its Commander. He retired as an agent from State Farm Insurance Company in 1999.

Born December 30, 1932, in Handburley, KT, he was the son of the late Tena and the late Nevane McClure.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Betty McClure Hipsley and his brother, James McClure.

Survived by his wife, Diana; sons, Lee Jr., Kevin and Jason; daughters, Suzanne, Anita and Dana; grandchildren, Adam, Cameron, Evan, Chase, Grace, Madison, Audrey, Ethan, Jacob, Joshua and Johanna.

Gathering will be Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 4PM to 6PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.

Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 5:30PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.

Interment will be private.
