Harry Johnson Coombs entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 08, 2007 at Civista Medical Center, LaPlata, MD.

Harry was born on January 13, 1945 in LaPlata, MD to the late James Edward Coombs and Mary Martha Coombs. Harry was educated in the Charles County Public School System and graduated Bel Alton High School June 6, 1963. He was an avid athlete during high school playing baseball and basketball. After high school, he played for various Baseball Leagues throughout Charles & St. Mary's Counties. He was employed by Ken Dixon Automotive as the Detail Shop Foreman.

Harry loved his family and friends. His favorite past time was playing Keno, going to baseball games, fishing, shooting pool, and playing cards. His favorite football team was "The Washington Redskins," but he enjoyed watching all sports.

Harry was preceded in death by his father James Edward Coombs. Left to cherish his memory is his mother Mary Martha Coombs, three children Kimberly, Keith and Johnathan (Buster), two step children Glenda (Ballie) and Francis (Claimy boy), six grandchildren Brittany, Keith, Shawn, Tyra Mae, Melody and Johnathan, Jr. two daughters- in- law, Sadie and Tracey, three bothers, Melvin, Joseph and David, one sister, Diane, two sisters-in-law, Marie and Loretta, his life long companion and friend, Joanne (Joyce) Edelen, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His viewing will take place on Monday, January 15th, 9:00a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Thornton Funeral Home, P.A.
