Jean Marie Etchison, age 67, of Prince Frederick, MD died January 14, 2010 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. She was born May 22, 1942 in Montgomery County, MD to Charles and Florence (Bolton) Gooding.

Jean grew up in Glen Echo, MD and graduated from McKinley High School in Washington, DC in 1960. On August 12, 1960 she was married to John L. Etchison at McKinley Methodist Church, Washington. The marriage ended in divorce in 1981. Jean resided in Bladensburg in the 1960's moved to Waldorf in 1972, Lothian in 2001 and has been a resident of Calvert Pines since 2005. She was employed as an office administer for Brisk Waterproofing Co of Beltsville as well as a sales associate for Hecht's in Marlow Heights and later in Waldorf evenings until retiring due to health in 1999. Jean was an avid reader, animal lover, enjoyed cooking and baking and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her two sons John L. Etchison, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Charlotte Hall, MD and David W. Etchison and his wife Vikki of Lothian, MD; four grandchildren John L. Etchison, III of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Barbara J. and Nicholas D. Etchison of Lothian, MD and one sister Patricia Fancher of Joplin, MO.
