Josephine, N. Littleton, "Jo", 82 of St. Leonard, MD passed away on January 15, 2010 in Prince Frederick, MD. She was born on November 1, 1927 in Chambersburg, PA to the late Eva Nuckels and Robert E. Tolbert.

Jo was a Registered Nurse and worked in the health care profession. She was predeceased by her husband James R. Littleton, Sr. and a sister Loretta Wilcox. Beyond her own family, Jo welcomed neighbors, children, friends, animals—and sometimes even people she didn't know—as her own. She naturally cared for everyone around her, creating a large, loving family that extended far beyond the Littleton name.

Devoted mother of Debra Jo Littleton and her husband Denny Smith of Lusby MD, Susan Lynn Littleton of Rockville, MD, and James R. Littleton, Jr. and his wife Ann Femia of Lusby, MD. She is also survived by her brothers, Bunk Tolbert and Rodney Tolbert, both of Shippensburg, PA, Ralph Tolbert of Chambersburg, PA and Michael Tolbert of Auburn, PA.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, PA, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Tuesday January 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where services will be held on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at 11 AM Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Bladensburg, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Cancer society or the American Heart Association.
