George Anthony Kneipp, 70, of Hughesville, MD, died January 6, 2010, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

Mr. Kneipp was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force having served 20 years. Following retirement from the Air Force he worked as a computer tech bookbinder for the Harris Corporation in New York. He loved studying and feeding birds. He was a past member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing the banjo and listening to banjo music.

Born April 22, 1939, in Shreveport, LA, he was the son of the late Fred Kneipp and the late Nevella Mitchell Kneipp.

Predeceased by his parents.

Husband of Mary Catherine Snyder Kneipp; daughter, Sandy Raymond; step-daughters, Patricia and her husband Danny Jumalon of St. Mary's County, MD; Barbara Siddiqui of Alexandria, VA; and Debbie Moore of Gainesville, VA; brothers, Robert Kneipp of NC; DeWayne Kneipp of LA; sister, Johnette Mathias of Shreveport, LA. Also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate.

Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD, at 1PM. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be United States Air Force Honor Guard.
