Elmer Kenneth Coombs, 76, of White Plains, MD, died January 7, 2010, at his residence with Hospice.

Mr. Coombs was a store clerk for 45 years with A&P Food Stores.

Born February 23, 1933, in Pomfret, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Elmer Coombs and the late Mary Dorothy Welch Coombs.

Predeceased by his parents; son, Michael K. Coombs; daughter, Michelle Marie Coombs.

Survived by his wife, Doris Coombs; daughters, Angela Marie Coombs of Pomfret, MD; Amy Rebecca Coombs of Pomfret, MD; Abby Elaine and her husband Reed Faasen of Charlotte Hall, MD; brothers, Sidney Coombs of Montross, VA; Rudy Coombs of OR; sisters, Shirley Chilton of Myrtle Beach, SC; Joan Palka of Montross, VA. Also survived by two grandchildren, Amber and Mark.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 11AM at St. Joseph's Church, Pomfret, MD.

Fr. Mark Smith will officiate.

Interment will be in Church cemetery.
