Anna Mae Elliott Denton, 86, of Prince Frederick, died January 3, 2010 She was born May 27, 1923 in Broomes Island, MD to the late Hezekiah Elliott and Mary Parks Elliott.
She was married to the late Roland K. Denton. She worked at Calvert High School cafeteria for many years. She also worked at the Super Fresh store in Prince Frederick for 15 years before retiring in 1978. She enjoyed eating crabs, especially those cooked by her brother, "Duck" and she enjoyed cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Geraldine Hasset, Jeannette Stafford, Mazie Monnett and Jean Rutledge. She is survived by her children, Harold Denton and wife Bonnie of Prince Frederick; Marlyn Sutton and husband Carl of Prince Frederick; grandchildren, Connie Sutton, Gwyn Novak, and Kevin Denton; great grandchildren, Samuel and Julia Denton; sister, Eleanor Denton of Port Republic; brother, Hezekiah (Duck) Elliott of Broomes Island. The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road in Port Republic.on Wednesday January 6, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Services were held on Thursday January 7, 2010, 11 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Prince Frederick. Interment was at Central Cemetery in Barstow. The officiating minister was Pastor Charles Harrell. Pallbearers: Kevin Denton, Robert Monnett, Robert L.Hall Jr., Donald Hall, Joseph Denton and Donald Novak. Honorary Pallbearers:Mary Jane Stump, Shirley Hance, Elsie Moser, Phyllis Combs and Peggy Quade. Memorial contribution may be made to Calvert Hospice, P. O. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
