Jeffrey Lawrence Kaufman, age 35, a resident of Calvert County for the past six years, died suddenly on December 25, 2009 at his residence. Jeff was born April 11, 1974 at Prince George's Hospital in Cheverly, MD to James E. and Lois Snyder Kaufman.
He attended Bowie High School, and completed electrician's school and apprenticeship in 1997, and was licensed as a journeyman electrician in the I.B.E.W. Union, Local 26 in Washington D.C. Jeff was employed by Bryant and Berry Electrical Contractors in Beltsville, and worked primarily on government projects in the Washington area. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Nicole Williamson, on November 20, 1993, and they lived and raised their family in Huntingtown. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing and crabbing, and was a fan of NASCAR and the Washington Redskins. Jeff was a member of Jesus the Divine Word Parish in Huntingtown. He was a devoted husband and father, and loved his country home in Calvert County. He is survived by his beloved wife Nicole, sons Jeffrey L., Jr. and Ryan Michael Kaufman and a daughter Kaleigh Nicole Kaufman, all of the home; his parents James E. "Jim" and Lois Snyder Kaufman of Bowie; brothers James E. Kaufman, Jr. of Millersville and Jay M. Kaufman of Bowie; his grandmother Lena F. Kaufman of Bowie, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received on Wednesday January 6 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:00 AM on Thursday January 7, 2010 at Jesus the Divine Word Parish, 885 Cox Road, Huntingtown, MD. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, 3270 Broomes Island Rd., Port Republic, MD. Arrangements provided by Rausch Funeral Home.
