Ivan Granville Briscoe, 88 of Waldorf, MD died on December 21, 2009 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Born on September 2, 1921 in Winfield, WVA, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Rose Ellen Powers Briscoe.

Mr. Briscoe was a Machinist Helper for the Department of Navy and retired in 1978. His enjoyments were going to church, square dancing, playing the harmonica, and blue grass music. He liked Johnny Cash. He was also a member of American Legion and DAV.

Beloved husband of the late Naomi Jewell Childers Briscoe.

Survived by his children, Phyllis Marie Barnard & husband, James, Linda B. Pero & husband, Wes, Martha Nortrup & husband, David, and Thomas G. Briscoe & wife, Karla, siblings, Irene, Mabel, Pearl, Frank, and Armon, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends to Celebrate Ivan's Life on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Cody, Brent, Derek, David, Wes, Randy, and Chris.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, 29449 Charlotte Hall Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD and Grace Lutheran.
