Mrs. Cassell loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She most enjoyed being with family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a caretaker to many family members and always had an open door for everyone.

She was the daughter of the late John Rush and the late Nancy Perky Rush

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Horace Greely Cassell, two brothers, Charles and Thomas Rush, and four sisters, Hattie, Mabel, Georgia, and Pearl.

She was survived by her two daughters, Barbara Jean (Fred) Gonzalez of Waldorf, MD, and Patricia Ann (Ronald) Miller of Kinston, NC, and two sisters, Ruth McCurry and Edith Greene, both of Morristown, TN. Also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 5-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11am at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate

Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren

Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
