Margaret Mae "Peggy" Sutton, 93, of Prince Frederick died December 19, 2009 at Calvert County Nursing Center. She was born on May 25, 1916, in Hellam, PA, to the late Harvey and Myrtle Shellenberger.

She moved to Calvert County in 1934. She and her husband owned and operated Sutton's Used Furniture store on Armory Road in Prince Frederick until the late sixties. She worked at Sears Store and later at Montgomery Ward Store in Prince Frederick for many years until retirement. She loved working in her yard and watching the wildlife from her porch. She was a longtime member of the order of Eastern Star and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Sutton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Woodrow Shellenberger of Wellsville, PA.

Survivors include sons, Joseph R. Sutton, wife Arta of Huntingtown MD and Carl L. Sutton, wife Marlyn of Prince Frederick MD; step daughters, Marion Osborne of Belmont, ME, Delores Beall of Alexandria, VA, and Leahbell Jones of Berkley Springs, WV; half brothers; George Rodgers of Red Lion, PA, Harry Rodgers of Wellsville, PA; half sisters, Evelyn Smith, Esther Auble, Miriam Speck of Dover, PA; grandchildren, Joseph Sutton Jr., Connie Sutton and Melissa Miller; great grandchildren, Kevin and Andrew Miller.

The family received friends on Tuesday December 22, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, PA, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD and on Wednesday December 23, 2009 from 10 -11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Church Street, Prince Frederick, MD where services were at 11 AM.

The officiating ministers were Rev. Charles Harrell and Rev Health Wilson. The Pallbearers were Alan Doubleday, Harold Denton, Jay Miller, Joey Sutton, Kevin Miller, and Andrew Miller. Interment was Southern Memorial Gardens, Dunkirk, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Hospice, P. 0. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.

Funeral arrangement were provided by Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, MD.
