Audrey Mae Bowen, 88, died December 13, 2009 at Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick, MD where she had resided for nearly five years. Audrey was born May 29, 1921 in Huntingtown to Calvert C. and Jessie Trott Buckler.

She was raised primarily in Calvert County where she attended public schools. She married Briscoe B. Bowen on March 5, 1937, and they lived and raised their family in Huntingtown. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. A member of Huntingtown United Methodist Church, she enjoyed gardening and canning, loved cooking, and also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Briscoe Bowen, Sr. in 1999, and her sons Briscoe B. Bowen, Jr., Timothy L. Bowen and Robert L. Bowen, and by a sister, Eloise Clark.

She is survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, a brother Calvert C. Buckler, Jr. of Owings and a sister Frances Gibson of Huntingtown.

A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday December 21, 2009 at Huntingtown United Methodist Church, followed by inurnment in the church cemetery and by a reception for family and friends in the fellowship hall.
