Tawana Marie Butler, 39, of California, MD, formerly of Suitland, MD, died on December 2, 2009. Born on June 8, 1970 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ernest Butler and Helen Elizabeth Butler of Suitland, MD.

Ms. Butler has resided in this area for 13 years. She briefly worked for the FBI before obtaining employment in her field of love--cooking.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Briana M. Fenwick, stepfather, Elijah G. Grantham, Sr.; sisters, Barbara Killingsworth and Katrina Carroll; a brother, Joseph E. Butler, Jr.

The family will receive friends for Tawana's Life Celebration on Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 28297 Old Village Rd., Mechanicsville, MD, 20659. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Peter Alliata at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
