Jean Leona Heimerling, 88 of Mechanicsville, MD died on December 3, 2009 at Washington Hospital Center.

Born on January 7, 1921 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William Earl and Norma Marion Thomason Wannall. Before retiring Ms. Heimerling was a retail clerk. Her enjoyments were playing bingo, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ms. Heimerling is survived by her daughters, Susan J. Frew and Penny Lambert, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Frank A. Hodges, siblings, Marion I. Stewart, William E. and Robert L. Wannall.

Family will receive friends to Celebrate Jean's Life on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where Funeral Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Reverend Ann Strickler. Interment will be private.
