"It's Time to Rest"

Margaret D. Kenady

Margaret Denmore Kenady was born on December 3, 1920, in Kent Island Maryland to the late Ellis Rubin White and Flora Stansbury White. She was raised in Baltimore, MD and educated in the Baltimore, MD school system.

Margaret later met and married her late husband Stephen Kenady and from their union they were blessed with one daughter: Stephanie Gross.

Margaret was a domestic worker for several years prior to the birth of her daughter. After Stephanie was born she became a stay at home mom for 12 years. She resumed work as a nurse's assistant until her retirement in the early 1980s due to health reasons.

Margaret was a woman of integrity and had a god-given talent to manage her household. She was known for speaking her mind and not mincing her words. She had a unique expression of love.

On Sunday, November 29, 2009, Margaret went to her eternal rest from Genesis Elder Care Center in LaPlata, MD.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Octavia Kennedy, her brother Ellis White, Jr, her husband, and her great aunt who helped to raise her, Essie Frazier.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, her son-in-law, James Gross, a devoted granddaughter, Keona Courtney. A great granddaughter, Kenady Hill. Six nephews: Robert, Edward, Kemit, Richard, Ralph, and Howard Kennedy. Eight nieces, Delores Somerville, Barbara Fenwick, Lucy Bradshaw, Tamerida Scott-Green, Veronica Hayes, Dorothea White-Cooper, Ellisha Scott, Erica Scott-Pindell. One sister-in-law, Diane White. One god niece, Ida Harris. Six cousins: Pauline Lee, Robert Pulley, Austrilia Wilson, Frieda Downs, Mary Queen McGee, Helen Stevens and a host of other relatives and friends.
