Billy Dotson, 72, of La Plata, MD, died November 10, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton.

Mr. Dotson served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War from 1953 - 1957. He was a businessman for over 50 years. Among the many businesses were Dotson Electric, The Diamond Club, Olympus Gyms, JSB Apartments. He also built houses and in later years, his main interest was real estate

Born November 12, 1936, in Freeburn, KY, he was the son of the late James Scott Dotson and and the late Myrtle Daughtery Dotson.

Survived by his wife of 41 years, Carrie Morris Dotson. Also survived by sons, William John Dotson of La Plata, MD; Kevin Dotson of Newburg, MD; Brian Dotson of White Plains, MD; Ronnie Townsend of King George, VA; daughters, Rebecca Dotson of Alexandria, VA; Lisa Williams of King George, VA; Teresa Dotson of White Plains, MD; Nicollette Bozsik of Ann Arbor, MI; Angela Chernin of Ann Arbor, MI; brothers, Glen Dotson of Hustonville, KY; Donnie Dotson of Hustonville, KY; James Dotson of La Plata, MD; Scott Dotson of Mechanicsville, MD; sisters, Roma Rider of Reston, VA; Ruby Mathenson of Bowie, MD; Sylvia Dotson of Bowie, MD; Donna Sue Dotson of Louisia, KY; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Ginger.

Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2009, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Mike Hilson will officiate.

Pallbearers will be William Dotson, Mike Pifner, Ronnie Townsend, Blake Dotson, Vondale Price and Michael Williams.

Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 6707 Animal Shelter Road, Hughesville, MD 20637.
