Mrs Knott worked as an airplane inspector at a factory in Cincinnati, OH during World War II. She also worked for many years as a sales clerk with Hecht's Department Store, Kahn's and J.C. Penny. She was a member with the Senior Citizens of Indian Head and the Potomac Heights Leisure Club. She most loved being in her home, especially sitting on her porch during warm weather, enjoying her flowers, and talking with family and friends at family gatherings.

Daughter of the late Clyde W. Coontz and the late Osa E. Yoakum.

Predeceased by her parents; her late husband, Robert H. Knott, and one son, Richard D. Nixon, Sr. (survived by Marilyn Nixon), one late daughter, Barbara Turriff (survived by David Turriff), one late brother, Clyde W. Coontz, Jr., two late sisters, Sharlene McNearny and Marjorie Todd, and one late great-great -granddaughter, Tessa Aughinbaugh.

Survived by her two daughters, Janet (William) Marsh of La Plata, MD, and June (Michael) Bonifer of La Plata, MD; three step-daughters, Doris (Al) Shives of Marbury, MD, Barbara Ann (John) Wade of Bowie, MD, and Linda Knott of Bryans Road, MD., one brother, Robert E. Coontz of Columbus, OH, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation: On Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 30, 2009 at Raymond Funeral Chapel at 11AM.

Interment: Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Md
