Rachel Marie Myers, age 73, of Brandywine, MD died October 14, 2009 at Southern Maryland Hospital Center. Born November 28, 1935 in Nottingham, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin Richards and Dora Estelle Canter Richards. She retired from the Prince Georges County Treasurers Office where she worked as a clerk. Also she worked for 15 years as a cashier for Walmart.

Besides her parents, Rachel was predeceased by her son, Ricky W. Myers and brothers, Jim Richards, Arnold Richards, Benjamin Richards and William Richards. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Myers; sons, Glenn A Myers (Mary) and William H. Myers (Sandy); brothers, Paul Richards and Nelson Richards; sister, Mary Thelma Cole, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In Rachel's life, her family was always first. Rachel also enjoyed the many friendships of the community and her Walmart family. She enjoyed many things, especially flowers, watching her favorite soap operas and playing along with the shows Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and the Match Game.

The family will receive friends for Rachel's Life Celebration on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:00a.m. at the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 12806 Croom Road, Brandywine, MD. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 12806 Croom Rd., Brandywine, MD 20613 or the Baden Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 16608 Brandywine Rd., Brandywine, MD 20613.
