Martin Irenius Wise, Jr., age 80, of Owings, MD died suddenly October 5, 2009. He was born January 13, 1929 in Poolesville, MD, the son of Martin I. and Genevieve Mossburg Wise, and was educated in Poolesville schools.

Martin went to work for the A&P Grocery store as a grocery bagger and stock clerk, retiring after 40 years as a District Manager overseeing several stores in the area. Mr. Wise moved to Owings in the early 1970's. He was president of Calvert Water Treatment Company, a distributor of Rain Soft equipment, at the time of his death. Martin enjoyed watching sports in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Windsor Wise on June 11, 2005.

Surviving are sons Steven M. Wise of Rockville, MD and Larry M. Wise of California, MD; grandchildren Christine L. and Jonathan R. Wise of California, MD and a brother Kenneth E. Wise of Rockville, MD.
