![]() Burton Ernest "Burt" Sherman of Charlotte Hall, MD, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his home. He was 72 years old.
Born on June 30, 1937, in Brandywine, MD, Burt was a Security Guard with PEPCO before retiring. After retiring from PEPCO, Burt drove a truck for T & S Trash Service. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and belonged to the Charles County Horseshoe Club and the St. Mary's Horseshoe League. He also liked to go hunting, camping, gardening, being outdoors but especially loved being with his boys, grandchildren and his dog "Buster". He was preceded in death by his mother Mary M. Sherman; his father Ernest L. Sherman; his step-mother Ethel H. Sherman; his sister Mary Farrell; his brother Jonas H. Sherman; his grandson Jeremy Caleco. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sandy L. Sherman; sons, Billy Sherman and his wife Donna Sherman, Tony Sherman and his girlfriend Tina Felitsky, Bruce E. Sherman and his wife Barbara Sherman, James R. Sherman and his girlfriend Lisa Callison, Charles Sylvester Binger Sr. and Charles Sylvester Binger Jr.; sisters, Nellie Quade, Pearl Fleming and Naomi Conner; brothers, Alton Sherman and Roy Sherman; grandchildren, Bryan Sherman and his wife Missy Sherman, Tiffany Sherman, Joanna Stine, Jessica Sherman, Lauren Sherman, Alex Callison, Chris Sherman, Joelle Sherman and Jimmy Jo Sherman; great grandchildren, Angel Sherman, Taequon Sherman, Tamiyah Sherman, Jasmine Winters and Jaelynn Winters; close friends Joe, Mary and Jonathan Kurtz, Joe and Mary Hertzler; also many other relatives and friends. Visitation on Thursday, October 1, 2009, from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD. Funeral Service 10AM Friday, October 2, 2009, at the La Plata United Methodist Church, La Plata, MD. Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers are Billy Sherman, Tony Sherman, Bruce Sherman, Jimmy Sherman, Charles Sherman and Tommy Lusby. Honorary Pallbearers are George Hayden, Tommy Stine and Butch Murphy.
