Joseph Benjamin Messick, 91 of Charlotte Hall, MD died on September 15, 2009 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Born on March 20, 1918, in Washington, DC where he was raised the majority of his life. He was the son of the late Ernest and Effie Williams Messick. Mr. Messick worked most of lifetime as a Cab driver in Washington, DC. He resided at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home for the last 10 years.

Predeceased by his wife, Francis Stauds and a daughter, Patricia Long.

Survived by children, Johnie Messick of Waldorf, MD, Ray and wife, Cheryl Messick of La Plata, MD, and Ernest and wife, Sue Messick of Wicomico Shores, MD, brother, Ray and wife, Doris Messick of Silver Spring, MD, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Interment Private.
