![]() Melvin Glenwood Gee, 79, of Lusby, MD departed this life peacefully on September 15, 2009, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD. Born on August 6, 1930 in Eton, Georgia to the late Mary Louise Justice Gee and David P. Gee.
He was the beloved husband of Janet Ann Gee of Lusby, MD. Father of David Gee of Parsons, TN; and Gregory Gee of Parsons, TN. Step-Father of Gary L. Hardesty of Huntingtown, MD; Joseph Wayne Hardesty of Prince Frederick, MD and Richard Paul Hardesty of Prince Frederick, MD. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Gee served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was discharged as a Sergeant on September 8, 1952 at Fort Myer, Virginia. Melvin led a life of determination and generosity. He worked those characteristics into his life as an addiction counselor for numerous years in St. Mary's and Calvert County. He was also a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick, MD. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, from 2~4 and 6~8 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, P. A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD 20657, where prayers will be offered at 7:30 PM.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 18, 2009, 1:00 PM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 105 Vianney Lane, Prince Frederick, MD .Interment to follow at Southern Memorial Gardens, Dunkirk, MD.
