Doris J. Ruzicka, 74, of Huntingtown, MD passed away on September 12, 2009 in Prince Frederick, MD. She was born April 30, 1935, in Washington DC to the late William Albert and Frances Lelia Cook Kerns.

Besides her parents, Doris is predeceased by her husband, Edward Ruzicka, who passed away on October 17, 1987, and a brother, William A. Kerns.

Doris loved taking care of her family and other people, ask anyone that knew her from her 20 plus years working at Stinnetts Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach where is was known for the "salad bar" . She always put herself last. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church of Christ in California, MD and very active in the Southern Community Center in Lusby where she participated in many of the classes and functions.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene F. Reumont (Charles) of Huntingtown , son Edward J. Ruzicka (Terri) of Lusby, grandchildren, Brandi R. Reumont, Shanna M. McLynn, Matthew J. McLynn (Samantha), Eric M. Reumont (Valerie McCoy), and Amber N. Reumont. Great Grandmother of Christian D. Zambrano and Noah L. Underwood, she is also survived by her sister, Virginia Stanfield (Max), many nieces and nephews and her devoted companion Harold, and his daughter Gilda.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic MD on Wednesday September 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where services will be held on Thursday September 17, 2009, 12:30 PM, Interment will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD, 3 PM.
