Betty McGraw O'Neill, 84, of Mechanicsville, MD and formerly of District Heights, died September 10, 2009 at the Calvert County Nursing Center. Born October 28, 1924 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Hugh McGraw and Dora Alexander McGraw.

Mrs. O'Neill worked and retired as a clerk stenographer at the Library of Congress. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved being with people. Sunday dinners were special and she loved to play bingo, cards and playing the slots at Dover.

Besides her parents, Mrs. O'Neill was predeceased by her husband, Carroll "Buck" O'Neill and daughter, Maureen O'Neill. She is survived by her son, Michael O'Neill and his wife, Dawna, son; Daniel and his wife Frances, daughter; Laura Moran and her husband Daniel, grandchildren; Mercedes, Joseph, Jessica, Donna, Kevin, Keli, and Robert, great grandchildren; Tyler, Paige, Bryce, Tyson, James, Amanda, Melissa, Kayla, Kylie, Ember, Storme, Ivy, Akasha, Isaura, and E-Jay and great great grandchild Trequan. She is also survived by her honorary son, Sockie Zois and daughters; Joann Tolbert and Terry Tucker.

Mrs. O'Neill's Life Celebration will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM where prayers will be said at 8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 16th at 9AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, MD. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Baltimore Province, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD 21228.
