Norman Lee Bowen, Sr., 61, of Broomes Island, MD passed away on September 9, 2009 at his home. Mr. Bowen was born September 10, 1947 in Prince Frederick, MD to the late Milton Debois and Blanche Elizabeth Ramsey Bowen. He is also predeceased in death by a brother, Charles Bowen. Norman served in the Army in Vietnam, where he was injured and discharged from his injuries. He went on to farm tobacco in Calvert County, and enjoyed the Red Skins, the Orioles and life in general.

He is survived by his children, Vickie Bowen of St. Leonard, MD, Donna Moreland of Lusby, MD and Norman L. Bowen, Jr. of Prince Frederick, MD. Grandfather of Monty and Ricky Cox, Richard and Britney Moreland and Shyanne Bowen. He is also survived by his siblings, Milton Bowen of Lexington Park, Mary Frances Kirby of Prince Frederick, Robert Bowen of St. Leonard and Ellen Langley of St. Leonard.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD where services will be held on Monday September 14, 2009 at 11, AM. Interment will follow in Waters Memorial UMC Cemetery, St. Leonard, MD Memorial contributions may be made to Waters Memorial Church Building Fund 5400 Mackall Rd. St. Leonard, MD 20685.
