Kenneth Floyd Dodson, 60, of Hollywood, MD, died August 20, 2009, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Mr. Dodson lived and worked in the Baltimore area since 1986. In 2008, he worked as a service technician for S&D Coffee, Inc., for two years. He moved to Southern Maryland, working in Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties.

Born July 1, 1949, in Heron, IL, he was the son of the late Thomas John Dodson and the late Eva McElhaney Dodson.

Predeceased by his parents, Thomas John Dodson and Eva McElhaney; brother, Robert Dodson; and sister, Patricia Blunt.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Thornton Dodson; sons, Kenneth Floyd Dodson, Jr., of Hollywood, MD; and Thomas Raymond Dodson, of Elgin, IL; daughters, Amber Renee Dodson of Hollywood, MD; Christina Louise Dodson of Elmhurst, IL; and Julie Marie Dodson of Elmhurst, IL; brother, Thomas Dodson of Dahlgren, IL; sisters, Dorothy Loftus of West Frankfort, IL; Mary Canter of Marion, IL; Carol Dutton of Moulton, AL; Georgia Cheze of Roland, OK; Rose Dutton of Conners, GA; Brenda Mader of Muldrow, OK; and Bessie Fair of San Anna, CA; and one grandchild, Kayla Danielle Usher.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at First Baptist Church of St. Charles, Stoddert Avenue, Waldorf, MD 20602, at 1PM with an Interment at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD at 3 PM.

Pastor Fred Caudle will officiate.
